Hermann Coburg (Hermann Spielwaren -GMBH)
HERMANN-Spielwaren, located in Coburg-Cortendorf / Germany, is one of the oldest still existing Teddy Bear companies worldwide. Founded 1920 in Neufang near Sonneberg / Thuringia the history goes back to the year 1913 when Max Hermann manufactured his first Teddy Bear with the assistance of his brother Arthur and his sister Adelheid.
The company soon became famous for there extraordinary designs, craftsmanship, and exclusive small editions. Each bear is hand made in Coburg / Germany and has its' own personality. The bears are is made by high-skilled longtime employees, many of whom have worked over 10 years for HERMANN-Spielwaren.
Well know teddy reference and books feature the Hermann designs and Teddy Bear magazines are in close contact with the company for new styles.
The Chef-Designer is Ulla Hermann, granddaughter of the founder. Her Teddy Bears have won many famous Awards, like the TOBY Industry’s and Public’s Choice Award, the Golden Teddy Award and the TED worldwide Award.
